Hospitality, Evangelism and Membership (HEM) ensures that all people are welcomed at North United Methodist Church.  The HEM Steering Commission meets quarterly and facilitates communication, planning and visioning between smaller ministry teams.

We are currently working with the following ministry teams:

The Fellowship Friends

This program partners new members with long-term members to help the new members make the transition to North Church.

The Greeting Team

This group identifies, trains and coordinates greeters for Sunday mornings and special events.  Greeters will serve once a month for a quarter (three months) of the year.

The Visitors/Newcomers Team

We focus on identifying, welcoming, contacting and retaining visitors.  This team will also help visitors to connect and become more involved in the church’s ministries.

We envision other groups that might:

** focus on hospitality (e.g. create name tags and brochures, study the friendliness of the bulletin, make our building and facilities more inviting)

** help coordinate New Member classes

** work with Mission & Outreach to build relationships with people in the local community and welcome them to North Church.
