Despite Flooding, 38th and Meridian Farmers' Market Vendors Continue to Provide Safe and Delicious Produce

INDIANAPOLIS - Currently, the produce sold at our market comes from areas that have not experienced the recent flooding. Health concerns about produce provided at the market are unwarranted. While some of our produce will eventually come from areas that were washed out, they were not affected by city sewers or rivers out of their bank. Most of their crops were simply water logged and unable to recover from so much rain. For some market vendors it will be too late to replant some cool weather crops and those vendors will make efforts to replant traditional vegetables that still have a chance to net a crop before the end of the summer. The days of summer will continue to get shorter, which will make it very difficult to ensure a strong recovery. However, there are plenty of other local sources for our vendors to bring their fresh produce from and we will not have a shortage of fresh and safe fruits and vegetables at 38th and Meridian.
We would like to thank the following vendors for participating in the 38th and Meridian Farmers' Market:
